For my Lifescience client based in Hamburg and due to expansion and high work loads, I am looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join a busy international team

Reporting to the Head of Controlling this position requires several years of professional accounting experience ideally within a global environment with appropriate knowledge of reporting.

Your area of responsibility

• Monitoring and analysis of financial and operational data as well as support of the business unit manager with ad hoc inquiries
• Support and optimization of existing processes with regard to their efficiency
• Execution and support of monthly closing activities, including the preparation of reports and reports on budget variances
• Creation and validation of budgets, forecasts and medium-term planning
• Support for post-merger integration projects in cross-functional teams
• Carrying out the cost centre analysis with a special focus on overhead reporting, including the creation of internal benchmarks
• Creation of monthly / quarterly KPI management reporting based on the scorecard
• Support in (cross-functional and cross-border) optimization projects in relation to controlling processes

QUALIFICATIONS

• Successfully completed university studies (e.g. with a focus on accounting, finance or business administration)
• Several years of relevant professional experience or comparable training with appropriate skills and experience
• Experience in a global environment with appropriate reporting knowledge to the parent company is an advantage
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX and IBM Cognos is an advantage
• Microsoft Office, especially Excel and / or Access desirable
• very analytical and structured approach, strong reasoning ability
• high self-motivation and commitment as well as creativity in problem solving and maximizing results
• Fluency or at least a C1/2 level of German and English.
